Here’s a first look at the latest Ride of the Week, the 2012 Nissan Murano.
This five-passenger crossover is powered exclusively by a 260-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 sending power through a continuously variable transmission (CVT.) Front-wheel drive is standard on the Murano, while all-wheel drive is offered for a $1600 premium on each of four trim levels: S, SV, SL and LE.
Power windows and locks, keyless entry with push-button start, dual-zone climate control, 18-inch alloy wheels and a 6-speaker audio system are standard on the base S model, which has a starting price just under $30,000. The SL test vehicle has the dual-pane moonroof and 8-way power driver seat that are included on the SV model, plus leather, heated front seats and steering wheel, 60/40 split folding rear seats with a power-up feature, power liftgate, an 11-speaker Bose sound system and rain-sensing wipers.
Options on the test vehicle include carpeted floor mats and the $1850 navigation package. The bottom line, including an $810 destination charge, is $39,255. The top-trim LE adds 20-inch wheels, xenon headlights, heated rear seats and wood grain interior trim.
This week, I’ll test this vehicle in real-world driving. My full review of the 2012 Nissan Murano will be available soon.
