Here’s a first look at the latest Ride of the Week, the 2012 GMC Terrain.
With a completely redesigned 2013 Terrain arriving soon, the 2012 model represents the last of the first generation for the five-passenger crossover. The base model is powered by a 2.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder with direct fuel injection and variable valve timing to achieve segment-best highway fuel economy of 32 mpg with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available with both the base engine and the optional 3.0-liter V6. The larger motor, a $1,500 option, produces 264 horsepower compared with the 4-cylinder’s peak output of 182 horsepower. Standard features include a touch-screen audio system and backup camera. The Terrain has a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $26,385. With the optional V6, all-wheel drive and navigation, the Terrain SLT-2 tops $36,000.
With the new 2013 Terrain and Terrain Denali arriving soon, now may be a great time to find a good deal on the outgoing model. GMC is now advertising 0% APR for 36 months or a $249/month lease deal on the 2012 Terrain.
