2012 Nissan Maxima SV: New Format

Automotive photographer Dave May and I are working on a new format for bringing visitors into the driver’s seat of the vehicles that fascinate us. That format is video, and we think it has promising potential for sharing our experiences.

Cigarette Boat Inspired by Mercedes-Benz AMG Black Series

There probably aren’t too many Cigarette Racing boat owners driving around in Camrys and Odysseys. High-performance off-shore powerboats aren’t for regular folks. No, they’re the toys of wealthy adrenaline junkies, people that buy cars like the 510-horsepower Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series. Vintage Ferrari Drive & Photo Shoot

Today Dave May and I had the good fortune to drive and shoot two vintage Ferraris, both 1972 models. An article and a series of photographs are coming soon. Meanwhile, here’s Dave snapping a shot of the 365 GTB/4 with its headlamps up. What a day!

Big Diesel Sighting

I saw this big motor while traveling on I-75. A little research suggests that it’s a Caterpillar 3516, a 69-liter (4210 c.i.) twin-turbo V16 that produces up to 2200 horsepower and requires 106 gallons (424 quarts or over 35 cases) of motor oil.

Some Thing Cherished

Volkswagen has a gallery of Type 181 photos recently posted on their media site, including the ones below. Children of the sixties and seventies may remember the Type 181 as The Thing. My high school classmates may recall that funny looking yellow car I drove back in the day. Oddly for inland suburban Atlanta, two of my classmates had Type […]
